The Sculptor's Acrobat Twirl Skirt [FINAL SALE]

Long-time students of astronomy might be excited to see a resurgence of news and discussion about one of our favorite astral rarities, the cartwheel galaxy in the Sculptor constellation. A ring galaxy is far less common than a spiral galaxy like our own, and the circumstances of the Cartwheel's creation are plenty extraordinary. Some 200-300 million years prior to the representation of the galaxy we see now, there was a full-on collision with another companion galaxy that sent dust and rock all over. The Webb telescope's near-infrared imaging has given us a much clearer view of the constellation, and it looks as though it may now be returning to its original spiral form. There's so much more to say that we don't have the space to cover here, but trust us that if a picture is worth a thousand words, then this skirt is surely worth a million!
